Maintenance Guidelines for Handheld Laser Cleaning Machine
The handheld laser cleaning machine belongs to Class‑IV high‑power fiber laser equipment. It integrates high‑voltage electrical circuits, precision optical components, water cooling circulation system and gas circuit components. All maintenance, inspection and fault repair work carries hidden risks of laser radiation, electric shock, high temperature scald and gas leakage. Maintenance personnel must receive professional training, strictly follow safety specifications, and avoid unauthorized disassembly and random debugging.
Safe Operation for Routine Maintenance Items
1. Optical Lens Replacement & Cleaning
Optical lenses are the most frequently replaced consumables, and improper operation is the main cause of secondary pollution and light path damage.
- After power‑off, cover the nozzle of the cleaning gun with adhesive tape immediately to prevent dust, metal powder and debris from entering the internal light path.
- Take out the protective lens with special lens suction pen or clean tweezers. Never touch the light‑transmitting surface of the lens with fingers. Fingerprint grease will cause lens burning during laser emission.
- If only slight contamination exists, use special lens cleaning paper and lens cleaning liquid for wiping. Do not use ordinary tissue, cotton cloth or alcohol with impurities.
- Check the sealing ring of the lens seat. If the sealing ring is aging, deformed or cracked, replace it synchronously. Poor sealing will let smoke enter the gun head and pollute collimating and focusing lenses.
- After installing the new lens, confirm the lens is installed flat without inclination. Recover the lens housing and tighten evenly.
- After assembly, remove the adhesive tape on the nozzle, power on and turn on red preview to verify the light spot is normal before formal trial run.
2. Chiller & Water Circuit Maintenance
Water circuit failure is one of the top causes of laser overheating alarm and laser damage.
- Replace cooling water regularly every 3–4 months, and only distilled water or deionized pure water is allowed. Tap water is forbidden.
- When draining water, prepare a water‑receiving container to avoid water spilling onto electrical boards and laser modules, which will cause short circuit.
- Clean the chiller dust filter and condenser radiator regularly. Blocked dust will reduce heat dissipation efficiency and trigger high‑temperature alarm.
- In low‑temperature environment below 0℃, if the machine is to be stored for a long time, drain all cooling water, and blow the whole water circuit with low‑pressure dry nitrogen or dry compressed air. No residual water is allowed inside the pipeline to prevent frost cracking.
- Check water pipe joints regularly for aging, bulging and water seepage. Replace aging hoses in advance.
3. Gas Path Maintenance
- Drain the water and oil inside the oil‑water separator of the gas circuit every week. Oil and moisture entering the light path will quickly contaminate optical lenses.
- Inspect air hoses and quick connectors regularly. Replace air pipes with cracks, pinholes and aging hardening in time.
- After long‑term shutdown, release residual pressure in the pipeline before restarting.
4. Fiber Cable & Cleaning Gun Maintenance
- Check the outer sheath of the fiber cable daily for scratches, cuts, extrusion and cracking. Once the fiber sheath is damaged, stop using it immediately and contact the supplier.
- Keep the minimum bending radius ≥ 30 cm at all times. Sharp bending, knotting and heavy pressure on fiber cable are forbidden.
- Avoid violent impact and drop of the cleaning gun. Impact will shift the internal optical axis, resulting in light spot deviation and cleaning failure.
- Do not disassemble the internal light path structure of the gun head by yourself. Any adjustment of collimating mirror and focusing mirror requires professional optical calibration.
Storage & Long‑Term Idling Maintenance
- Before long‑term shutdown (more than one month), complete cleaning of the whole machine, replace the protective lens, drain the cooling water and blow dry the water circuit with dry gas.
- Store in dry, dust‑proof, non‑corrosive gas environment, ambient humidity below 80%. Avoid dew condensation.
- Cover the equipment with dust cover. Place the cleaning gun on the special bracket, and fix the fiber cable neatly without tension and sharp bending.
- Before reuse after long‑term storage, complete the full pre‑start inspection checklist step by step, test the chiller and gas circuit first, and do not directly enable the laser.
Maintenance and troubleshooting are high‑risk operations for high‑power Class IV laser equipment. Many secondary damages and safety accidents happen because operators underestimate risks and take shortcuts.
All maintenance personnel should receive special safety training and read the complete user manual. If you lack maintenance experience or encounter complex faults, please contact our official after‑sales support instead of self‑repair.
